The inn was restored after a fire and rennovation was undertaken using traditional building methods and materials and finally completed in December 2005. The Inn retains a number of its original features and provides an atmosphere conducive to a traditional inn whilst benefiting from 21st century facilities.
The dining room was originally the blacksmith's workshop and was attached to the inn to provide services such as shoeing to drovers who may have been in the final stages of a journey to market, with oxen or cattle.
